New York Skyline

Founded by the Dutch in 1625 and originally called Nieuw Amsterdam in 1664 it fell to the British and the territory was officially ceded to British rule in the treaty of 1674. Between 1785 and 1790 it served as capital of the United States and is the most populous city in the US. Consisting of five metropolitan boroughs: the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and Queens, New York City is known as the 'City that never sleeps' due the high use and availability of 24 mass transport.
