Christ The Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro

Located on the peak of the Corcovado mountain in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Christ The Redeemer (O Cristo Redentor) is a statue of Jesus Christ that stands 120ft tall. Made of reinforced concrete and soapstone, this symbol of Christianity has become an icon of Rio and Brazil. Scuplted by French sculptor Paul Landowski and taking nine years to construct, the moment was offically opened on 12th October, 1931.
