Chrysler Building
Henri Silberman Mini Wall Mural
Located in the Turtle Bay area of Manhattan's East Side; The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco skyscraper design by architect William Van Alen. Opening in 1930 it was for a time the tallest building in the world, before being surpassed by the Empire State Building in 1931. The building, which is considered to be a masterpiece of the Art Deco movement, originally took design cues from Chrysler motors - such as the Eagles on the corners of the 61st floor which are replicas of the 1929 Chrysler hood ornament. This stunning aerial photograph was taken by renowned New York based photographer Henri Silberman.
