This stunning aerial photograph of New York’s famous Chrysler Building was taken by renowned New York based photographer Henri Silberman. Located in the Turtle Bay area of Manhattan's East Side; The Chrysler Building is an Art Deco skyscraper design by architect William Van Alen. The building, which is considered to be a masterpiece of the Art Deco movement, originally took design cues from Chrysler motors - such as the Eagles on the corners of the 61st floor which are replicas of the 1929 Chrysler hood ornament. Opening in 1930 it was for a time the tallest building in the world, before being surpassed by the Empire State Building in 1931.
